NSUBA To Host Telecom Expo

TAHLEQUAH, OK - Telecommunications professionals from Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas will converge on the Northeastern State University - Broken Arrow campus November 19 for the first ONTAP (Oklahoma Nortel Telecommunications Association of Professionals) Telecom Expo. ONTAP is the Tulsa chapter of INNMUG, which is one of the telecommunications industrys largest and most progressive users groups with members and chapters all over the world.

NSUBA is an important addition to the higher education landscape of the Tulsa metropolitan area, said NSU President Dr. Larry Williams. Our ability to bring these types of educational opportunities to the region is an important part of Northeasterns economic development mission. The NSUBA campus allows us the opportunity to offer further opportunities for students and professionals in the Northeastern Oklahoma and Tulsa metro areas.

Industry professionals and students will have the opportunity to attend numerous educational programs, tour the trade show featuring the latest in voice networking technologies, and to network with other telecom professionals. Dr. Williams, Don Harris, CEO of INNMUG, and Eric Ross, president of Quality & Customer Satisfaction at Nortel, are keynote speakers for the event.

The ONTAP Telecom Expo provides an excellent opportunity for telecom professionals to further their understanding and knowledge of cutting-edge communications products, said Steve Ford, president of ONTAP. In addition to exposing students to an area of telecommunications perhaps not available in their courses, the event will serve as an avenue for recently down-sized area telecom professionals to meet and network with prospective employers and other telecom professionals.

INNMUG and its affiliated chapters deliver education, product knowledge, and professional contacts to end users at all levels of experience and expertise. Special interest groups, industry and product focus groups, chapter meetings, and the international conference all provide forums for INNMUG members to interact and learn what is at the forefront of telecommunications.

Registration. Registration for INNMUG members is $15 before November 19 and $20 at the door. Non-members can register for $20 before November 19 and $30 at the door. Registration fee includes lunch. Students with proper identification may register for free. Those students who wish to partake in the lunch must pay a $10 registration fee.
