Bio
Dr. Penisten is a Professor and the Dean of NSUOCO. A graduate of Indiana University,
Dr. Penisten served as a Senior Lecturer for four years in the Department of Optometry
at the University of the North, Republic of South Africa. At NSU he teaches courses
in optometric history, and binocular and refractive analysis. Dr. Penisten is a former
Chair of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education. He has served as a member
of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Basic Science Council and served as
the Vice Chair of the Education Committee of the World Council of Optometry.
