Bio

A first generation college student, Alex Donovan Cole is a specialist in Political Theory and Comparative Politics. He focuses on questions of politics and literature, the connection between modernity and antiquity, ideology, and phenomenology. As an undergraduate, he completed a year of study at Regents Park College, Oxford University. He is the winner of LSUs 2019 Doctoral Research Fellowship and has conducted archival research in Lbeck and Berlin, Germany. His research has appeared or will appear on Routledge, German Politics and Society, Utopian Studies, and Theoria: A Journal of Social and Political Thought.

He collects records and is a voracious listener of 60s and 70s pop and progressive rock music. He also enjoys film, food, and travel.
He is currently preparing material for a second book on literary depictions of The Thirty Years War as political thought.
