Bio

Dr. Buford graduated from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) in
2019. She did a year in private practice before joining the NSUOCO clinical faculty in Spring of 2020 at the Cherokee Nation Salina Amo Health Center. She then came back to join the on-campus faculty as Assistant Professor in Fall 2022. Dr. Buford currently supervises and mentors optometry students in the Primary Care, Walk In, Infant Vision, and Vision Therapy Clinics. She is married to Jace Buford and has one daughter, Jentry.

  • OD, Optometry, Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry, Summa cum laude, 2019
  • BA, Biology, Mount Marty University, Magna cum laude, 2015
Dr. Buford's research interests include assessing new optometric technology, pediatrics and vision therapy.
When not in clinic, Dr. Buford enjoys mentoring optometry students with pediatric primary care and vision therapy cases. She enjoys pharmacology and optometric mission work.
