Bio

Dr. Sherry Been is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and serves as the Elementary Education Program Chair at NSU. Prior to NSU, she was a public school teacher working with all age groups birth through adults in rural, suburban, and urban communities. Dr. Been is a Kappa Delta Pi counselor and enjoys working with pre-service teachers. Her research interests include teacher autonomy, teacher efficacy, diversity/human rights issues, childrens literature, and literacy. She has presented at numerous local, state, national, and international conferences sharing her research and building relationships with other educators.
