Bio

I was born and raised in India. Earned my Master's degree in Biochemistry from Periyar University, India. For my Doctoral studies, I worked on cortical development at the Max-Planck Institute in Germany.

Education:

  • PhD, Developmental Neuroscience, George-August University, Cum laude, 2007
  • MS, Biochemistry, Periyar University, 2000
  • BS, Biochemistry, Zoology and Human Genetics, Andhra University, 1998
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. My previous work has shown that dendritic cells are also involved in the pathogenesis of MS by synthesizing the complement protein C3a. We would like to study the signaling pathways leading to C3a synthesis.
