NSU American Indian Alumni Association Calls for 2009 Distinguished Native American Alumni Award Nominations
TAHLEQUAH – The Northeastern State University American Indian Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 2009 Distinguished Native American Alumni Award.
The 2009 NSU AIAA Distinguished Native American Alumni Award is presented to an outstanding member of the NSU American Indian alumni community, recognized by their peers for making important contributions to their communities. This is the first year this award will be presented by the NSU American Indian Alumni Association, and the award ceremony will take place during the NSU Symposium on the American Indian.
Nominees must be an NSU alumnus and a member of a federally-recognized American Indian tribe, and have made important contributions to their tribal, local or professional communities.
Nominators need to note the name and current contact information of the person being nominated, along with a written explanation of why they think the person is deserving of the award (in electronic form; Word document or pdf). Forms can be requested from and nominations emailed to Dan Howard at firstname.lastname@example.org, Warren Hawk at email@example.com or mailed to the Branscum Alumni Center, 812 N. Cedar St., Tahlequah, OK 74464. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on April 10.
The 2009 NSU American Indian Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented at the Style Show Luncheon during the NSU Symposium on the American Indian at noon on April 17 at the University Center Herb Rozell Ballroom.
