Three commissions to be awarded at Military Science ceremony

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Three cadets will receive their U.S. Army commissions during the Northeastern State University ROTC Spring 2013 Commissioning Ceremony on May 9 in Ballroom B of the University Center at 7 p.m.
Receiving commissions are Christopher Copeland of Tahlequah, Coady Pratt of Tulsa and Zachary Whatley of Hope Mills, N.C.
During the ceremony the new second lieutenants will receive the Oath of Office from an officer, their gold bars will be pinned to their uniforms by family members and they each will be rendered a first salute.

The ROTC program prepares individuals for careers as professional military officers in the Army, Reserves or National Guard. Students completing the program may be awarded a minor in military science or may satisfy a specialization core field in the bachelor of general studies.
