AAUW Woman to Woman Day luncheon, discussion panels and banquet- March 23
(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University is set to host the American Association of University Women Woman to Woman Day on March 23. Sponsored by AAUW and cosponsored by the NSU Student Government Association, the event is a full day of networking, engagement and discussion with women and about women in celebration of Women's History Month.
The AAUW is the nation's leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Woman to Woman Day seeks to highlight issues of women in leadership, Native American women in education, campus safety, Oklahoma women in politics and more.
Woman to Woman Day is comprised of three events:
A Women's Networking Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $5 entry fee is required and light refreshments will be provided.
The afternoon portion will have Woman to Woman discussion panels with faculty, staff and students from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. panel sessions include “Campus Safety and Sexual Assault” and “NSU Robotics Program,” and the 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. panel sessions include “Native American Women in Education” and “Student Forum.” This event is free and open to the public.
Woman to Woman Day will culminate in the Woman to Woman Scholarship Banquet with keynote speaker Oklahoma Representative Emily Virgin from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. For $25, attendees will receive a full meal and a chance to win a free AAUW membership.
Proceeds will benefit AAUW female student scholarships. Participants who are able are encouraged to adopt a student's entry fee. All events will take place in the Northeastern State University Center Morgan Room and Redbud Rooms.
