NSU hosts Crime & Comedy, a Let’s Talk About It Oklahoma Book Discussion – May 3

Discuss “One for the Money” with Trisha Yarbrough

Join fellow literature enthusiasts at the Crime and Comedy, Let’s Talk About It Oklahoma Book Discussion, where this month’s book is “One for the Money,” by Janet Evanovich. The book discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Northeastern State University John Vaughan Library, second floor landing on the Tahlequah campus.

The program begins with a presentation by scholar, Trisha Yarbrough, who will relate the book to the theme and talk about such issues as the author’s life, the historical context of the work, the literary significance of the work, or its contemporary relevance. A book discussion will follow.

"This book discussion program serves as an excellent avenue to foster community dialogue and connect people with our finest Oklahoma scholars," Samantha Clifford, instructor, said.

Stop by the NSU John Vaughan library to borrow a copy of “One for the Money.” The presentation and discussion are free to attend and open to the public with refreshments available.

This book discussion and presentation is made possible by The Oklahoma Humanities Council. The OHC is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote meaningful public engagement with the humanities—disciplines such as history, literature, film studies, art criticism, and philosophy. As the state partner for the National Endowment for the Humanities, OHC provides teacher institutes, Smithsonian exhibits, reading groups, and other cultural opportunities for Oklahomans of all ages. With a focus on community building, OHC engages people in their own communities, stimulating discussion and helping them explore the wider world of human experience.
