Welcome Week 2007
Welcome Week is a celebration of a new year. The events scheduled during this time are free and open to all students. If you are new to campus, these events will give you an opportunity to meet new people, locate facilities on campus, and assist you in finding your niche at NSU. If you are a returning student, you know the benefits of attending these events - it's all fun!
August 11, 2007 - Saturday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Residence Life Move-In (RHA)- Residence Halls Association wants to meet you! RHA is sponsoring volunteers from across campus to help students moving into the halls. It’s a great time for new students to meet members of the NSU Community, and get a hand in moving in! NSU Residence Halls
- 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- Parent Connections- The Parent Connection Program is designed to provide parents/families of new students with NSU information and strategies to best support their students during their first year of college. University Center Ballroom
- 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- Greek Parent Program- An opportunity for parents and students to ask questions related to the fraternity and sorority experience at NSU. University Center Ballroom
August 12, 2007 - Sunday

- Freshmen Connections- This premiere two day orientation session will help you ease the transition to college by giving you the tools you need to be ready for the first day of school.
- 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
- Greek Interest Session- An opportunity for students to ask questions of current fraternity and sorority members and professional staff. You'll learn what it's like being involved in a fraternity or sorority and hear how to sign up for formal recruitment. Net Auditiorium
- 9:00 - 10:00 p.m.
- Sand and Cinema - Come out to the Fit Lawn and enjoy some free food while making cards for patients at Tahlequah City Hospital. Once it gets dark, stick around and enjoy the comedy Happy N'Ever After! Fit Lawn
August 14, 2007 - Tuesday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

- NSGA Freshmen Interest Session (NSGA)- Freshmen, here’s your chance to learn about the Northeastern Student Government Association, ways to get involved and how to run for Freshmen Senator positions. Get free stuff and mingle with the NSGA Execs and meet other freshmen. University Center Basement, Cue Bowl
August 15, 2007 - Wednesday

- Poster Sales-(NAB)- Need something for those empty dorm walls? Pick from thousands of posters. Everything from Monet to Jimi Hendrix. Sales continue through Friday. University Center Basement.
- 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Karaoke in the Court (NAB)- Come show off your talent and enjoy other sing at lunch. University Center Basement
- 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
- Merchant Mall (NAB)- Experience live music, games and tons of freebies that gives you lots of useful information about Tahlequah businesses. Absolutely free! Beta Field, South of Seminary Hall
August 16, 2007 - Thursday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

- Cultural Connections Program- Come learn about some of the various multicultural organizations at NSU, find out how to get involved, and walk to the RHA Luau (where many of these will be represented) to learn more! University Center Ballroom Lounge
- 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- RHA Luau (RHA)- This organizational fair is a great way to meet new people and get involved on campus! Enjoy free food and entertainment as organizations across campus come together to showcase their unique qualities. University Center Ballroom

- Rookie Bridge Camp Reunion- Reunite with your new RBC friends with food and plenty of candid RBC pics! Enjoy cookies and ice cold soft drinks. University Center North Porch
- 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Water Slide Road Trip (NAB)- NAB Road trips rental of water slide out at the river come out have fun in the sun and take a break from your first week of classes. Come and go as you please, if you need directions call the NAB Office. X2526

- Café Divan, Dave Tamkin (NAB)- Come enjoy NSU’s own coffee house! Play board games, cards with live music from Dave. NSU students get in free with their NSU ID and they also get free drinks from the Bistro. NSU Jazz Lab, 315 N. Muskogee Avenue.

- NSU Traditions Day (NSGA)- Come celebrate NSU’s past, present, and future traditions. There will be free food and giveaways, and a chance to learn more about NSU. University Center Ballroom
- 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Dinner and a Movie (NAB)- Free BBQ to the first 200 students with ID. Come enjoy BBQ and get to know more about the Northeastern Activity Board. Movie Night (Surfs Up) following BBQ. Spirit Pit

- Open Opportunity at the Net Lab- Get help with establishing userid's, change passwords, access web services, check e-mail, learn to use web mail, or enter a work order for dorm connection issues, all according to your particular need/interest. - Pre-Game Activities- Food and activities will be available prior to the game. NSU Soccer Field
- 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
- Men’s Soccer Game- Men's soccer team plays St. Edwards.
- 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- Player/Parent Reception.- NSU Soccer players and their parents are invited to attend a reception. NSU Alumni Center
Events and activities are coordinated and provided by the Office of Student Affairs, the Northeastern Activities Board, the Housing Office, Resident Halls Association, NSU Intramurals, the NSU Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the Native American Student Association, Indian University Scholars Society, AISES (American Indian Science & Engineering Society), and the Center for Tribal Studies.
