August 27, 1999 *President Williams appoints NCA Self-Study Steering Committee
September 30, 1999 *Academic Affairs VP James Pate, Academic Affairs Associate VP Janet Bahr, and Self-Study Coordinator Dunn Faires meet with Dr. Lopez in Chicago
October 1, 1999 *NCA Self-Study Project Office opens
November 9, 1999 *Self-Study Steering Committee receives its charge from President Williams and Academic Affairs VP James Pate

May - July 2001 *Review and edit Self-Study Report
August 2001 *Draft #2 is prepared and placed on the web
August 2001 *Steering Committee coordinates campus-wide review and hearings on Draft #2
September 2001 *Final draft of Self-Study Report prepared under the guidance of the Steering Committee
October 2001 *Steering Committee reviews final Self-Study Report
November 2001 *Send one complete set of materials to each member of the Evaluation Team and Commission staff liaison
February 11-13, 2002 *NCA evaluation visit takes place
May - June 2002 *University responds to draft Team Reports
July 2002 *University sends formal response to Commission
August 2002 *Steering Committee distributes recommendations to the community
