The need for emergency repairs should be reported by phone to the Director of the Physical Plant. For repairs or work other than emergencies, the request should be filed in writing with the Physical Plant.
The custodians are under the direct supervision of the Director of the Physical Plant. Minor suggestions may be made directly by employees to the custodians, but in most cases, request should be made in writing to the Director.
Building and office keys are obtainable in the Office of the Vice President of Administration. Since all University buildings contain valuable records and equipment, keys should never be loaned to anyone. When a particular key is no longer needed, it should be returned. Duplicates of keys are not to be made. Should an employee terminate, all keys must be returned before a final paycheck will be released.
Whenever it is necessary to move equipment from one area to another, an “Inventory Change Form” must be completed.
State owned supplies and equipment, as well as any other property for which the University is held responsible, are not to be removed from campus except in those cases where it is necessary to carry out a University sponsored activity which is scheduled off campus as a planned event of the University. In such cases, the activity must receive approval from the President.
For detailed information, please refer to the Administrative Procedures Manual.
Fire protection for the University is furnished by the City of Tahlequah. Fire extinguishers are placed in the halls of each building. Employees should familiarize themselves with fire escapes and other safeguards.
The posting of announcements inside or outside campus buildings will be regulated by the appropriate building supervisor. Generally, announcements must be posted on bulletin boards, easels, or other facilities provided by the building supervisor. Places are provided in each building for posters. In no case is a poster to be tacked to doors, window casings, or furnishings. Likewise, a poster must be neither tacked or taped to a wall. Announcements should be in good taste and are to be removed by the posting organization when they are no longer timely.
Inappropriate or unauthorized announcements are subject to removal by the University. University approved organizations should normally be allowed to post announcements of forthcoming events and activities subject to the above stated regulations.
The posting of signs or announcements on campus (outside of buildings) is restricted to officially recognized campus organizations in the conduct of campaign for student offices, position, and titles.
