Outstanding Graduate Student Award Information
This recognition will be given to a graduate student during Spring Commencement who has:
- demonstrated excellence in conducting research in pursuit of an advanced degree;
- exhibited scholarship as related to discipline area;
- demonstrated leadership and/or service to the department, college and/or university; and,
- conducted themselves in a manner which reflects positively on their fellow students, their college, and Northeastern State University.
Each academic program is asked to make a nomination supported by record of the student's activities and achievements. The Graduate Council member will lead in the program’s nomination.
- · Each department, program, or unit is encouraged to make at least one nomination for the Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
- · Nominating packets should include:
- · 1-2 page nominating letter
- · 1-2 page narrative of accomplishments
- · Total package not to exceed 3 pages
- · Nominations are due by April 1 of each year
- · 5 copies of the nominating packet should be submitted to the NSU Graduate College Office by April 1.
- · The packets will be distributed to the selection committee, and the award will be presented at the Spring Commencement Ceremony.
