Specific Requirements for Preparation for Professional Schools

Pre-Medical for OU

The Pre-Medical program is designed to meet the requirements for OU. A GPA of 3.0 or higher, average score of 7.0 or better on the MCAT, and a letter grade of C or better is required in prerequisite courses. A minimum of 90 college hours is also required.

Minimum Requirements:

CHEM 1123, 1131 General Chemistry I (Lecture & Lab) 4 hours
CHEM 1223, 1231 General Chemistry II (Lecture & Lab) 4 hours
CHEM 3123, 3132 Organic Chemistry I (Lecture & Lab) 5 hours
CHEM 3223, 3232 Organic Chemistry II (Lecture & Lab) 5 hours
MATH 1513 College Algebra 3 hours
PHYS 1115 General Physics I 5 hours
PHYS 1215 General Physics II 5 hours
 
Biology Elective: (pick at least one of the following courses)
Histology, Genetics, Embryology, Cell Biology, or Comparative Anatomy 4 hours
 
Three semesters of: (any combination)
Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Humanities, and Foreign Languages 9 hours

Your total credit hours must equal 90.
