Specific Requirements for Degrees

General Education Requirements for Bachelor's Degrees

A minimum of 45 semester hours of academic work in general education is required during the freshman and sophomore years. Students are required to complete general education requirements by the time they have completed 90 semester hours of college work.

TOTAL GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIRED 45-49 HOURS (48 hours for Business and 50 hours Education Majors)
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY English proficiency is a graduation requirement. Components I and II of English proficiency should be met with grades of “C” or better prior to graduation.
COMPUTER PROFICIENCY Effective Fall 1997, all new freshmen must meet computer proficiency in the first 30 hours of course work. This is a NSU graduation requirement.
UPPER DIVSION CREDIT Total hours must include at least 40 hours of credit in course numbered 3000 and above.

RESIDENT COURSE WORK All candidates for a degree must complete a minimum of 30 hours in residence at this University. (See General Degree Regulations)
