Safety Management

A Bachelor of Science degree program that places an emphasis on developing career opportunities in the management of safety systems in an industrial or business setting. The 54 semester hour major-minor program is designed to familiarize the student with state and federal regulations concerning occupational safety and health in the workplace. In addition, students will experience management of aspects of occupational safety and health compliance such as proper signage, incident reporting, emergency planning, hazard identification and control, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene. The required minor from the Department of Technology is chosen by the student with approval of an advisor. Environmental Management as a minor is highly recommended. An internship is available for those who qualify that offers on-the-job training.
