Classification

Undergraduate class standing at the beginning of a semester is determined as follows:

• · less than 30 semester hours, freshman
• · 30 through 59 semester hours, sophomore
• · 60 through 89 semester hours, junior
• · 90 hours or more, senior

A student not seeking to complete any degree program or certificate program is classified as a Special student. A student who has an earned degree and is working to complete a second undergraduate degree or a second major is classified as a Post Graduate student.
