Student Registration

 

To establish an official credential file:

  • Register Online with Career Services. Services will be activated upon receipt of a
    • $10.00 annual registration fee, provides services to current students up to one year after graduation or inactive status with Northeastern State University or
    • $25.00 lifetime fee, provides lifetime services with NSU Career Services.
  • Payments may be made in person, by mail or by phone at either the Tahlequah or Broken Arrow Campus Career Service Office. Payment may be made by phone using a Credit/Debit cards.
  • Resumes may be uploaded as a PDF file and maintained online for employers to view. (Remember, Career Services will assist you in developing or enhancing a resume on an individual basis by appointment.)
  • You may also upload and maintain reference letters, copies of state test scores, certifications and professional licenses on the online software.

Career Office Information
Prior to graduation, all degree candidates are encouraged to establish an online profile with Career Services.  Students seeking internships should register during their sophomore year (online profile remains active during full-time enrollment status). Students and alumni preparing for or seeking employment may register any time.

The following services are available to students and alumni who maintain an active registration:

  • Manage and post online multiple resumes, cover letters and other employment related documents
  • Opt to allow employers to view your resume
  • Search for and apply for online job opportunities 24/7
  • Maintain an online Personal Calendar
  • View and RSVP for career events
  • Schedule on campus interviews
  • Convert documents to PDF files
  • Individual resume assistance
  • Individual mock interviews
  • Take Oklahoma State Merit Tests (for jobs such as Child Welfare Specialist, Environmental Programs Specialist, Probation/Parole Officer, etc.)
  • Library of OGET, OSAT and OPTE Practice Manuals
  • Unlimited access to the Career Office:
    • Fax machine
    • Phone (long distance calls must be related or pertain to a job search)
    • Computer lab with internet access and color LaserJet printer
    • Assorted resume paper
    • Notary Service

Campus-wide training seminars each fall and spring semesters include Building a Professional Resume and Enhancing Interview Skills.

All documents in your credential file will be mailed to prospective employers upon request. It is extremely important for you to maintain a current address, phone, and e-mail address in the Career Office in order for you to receive notices of employment opportunities and communication from prospective employers. It is recommended you provide a permanent address and phone. You may change mailing address, phone, and e-mail address changes as necessary online by logging into Career Services and clicking on 'My Account'. Credential files are used primarily for reference purposes; not as an application for a job. Some employers will contact you and request your credential file. Others will contact the Career Office directly.

Please notify Career Services upon receiving employment.
