Carol Ann (Shackelford) Barkley

Carol Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1978 .While at NSU Carol Ann participated in the Student Council for Exceptional Children, the Student Education Association and was involved in the Baptist Student Union. She has taught in the Inola Public School System for 29 years.  She serves as a board member for the Rogers County Volunteers for Youth and has been active in the Oklahoma Education Association, the National Education Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma International. She is a faithful supporter of NSU athletics as a member of the Redmen Athletic Association and is a lifetime member of the NSU Alumni Association. She is married to fellow NSU alumnus, Clyde Barkley (’77) and they have 2 children Justin (’04 & ’06) and current NSU student, Andrea.
