Programs for K-12

The Reading Clinic at Broken Arrow

Students in Northeastern State's education programs provide tutorial assistance to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in this 5,600-square-foot facility. Students gain practical experience working in the clinic under the supervision of Northeastern State faculty, while students from the Tulsa Metropolitan Area enrolled at the clinic receive additional instruction in reading and literacy skills.

K-12 students are assessed in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, and reading comprehension. Based on the results, a customized one-on-one reading tutoring is developed for each child. Sessions are one hour and include a variety of instructional activities and literacy games. The cost is $30 for 10 sessions.
