TAHLEQUAH – The Northeastern State University Japanese student group JNSU will hold the Matsuri Festival, celebrating traditional Japanese food and culture, on Friday, April 10 from 3-6 p.m. in University Center Sen. Herb Rozell Ballroom.
The event is open to the public, but tickets for food are $1 at each booth. A variety of Japanese dishes will be available, as well as opportunities to learn Japanese calligraphy, origami, the traditional art of paper folding, and how to make a Japanese rice ball.
Along with the food and origami, festival participants will be able to try on a kimono and watch various performances. Matsuri Japan Festival T-shirt will be on sale for $15 to raise funds for JNSU.
