River City auditions will begin at 11 a.m. at the Shawnee Street Theater, located at the intersection of Downing and College, and Downtown Country auditions start at 10 a.m. at the NSU Playhouse at the intersection of Downing and Muskogee.

Those auditioning for River City should prepare 32 bars of an upbeat oldies/rock song and 32 bars of a ballad. Piano and CD accompaniment will be available, but participants will not be able to use a CD with vocals. Dance auditions are scheduled later that day at 3 p.m.

Both the vocal and dance auditions are required. Please bring appropriate attire for the dance audition. For more information, contact Robyn Magee Pursley by email at mageern@nsuok.edu or by phone at (918) 444-2793.

Vocalists auditioning for Downtown Country should prepare one fast and one slow country song and must provide their own accompaniment such as CD, tape, or live accompanist. A capella singing is discouraged.

Band auditions will begin at 3 p.m. Instrumentalists should pick up a band packet containing specific musical selections, which will be used in the audition. Comedians and specialty acts should prepare an audition that best showcases your talents.

Auditions will also be open to artists who want to perform one or more times during the summer season as vocalists, dancers or other specialty acts. They must come prepared with three country songs, dance numbers or sets.

All auditioning should come with a recent photo to be attached to an audition form. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, March 8. For more information, contact Kelli Doolen Farmer by email at doolen@nsuok.edu or by phone at (918) 444-4600.
