TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Numerous opportunities to turn free time into fun learning time are available on the campuses of Northeastern State University this summer, with camps offered by the College of Liberal Arts, Continuing Education and the Department of Athletics.

Registration is open for the College of Liberal Arts summer camps, which run weekly from June 17-July 19. Camps include Summer Fun, Time Travelers, Impulse Images Photo Camp, Kayak Camps I and II, Adult Evening Kayak Camp, Bring it to LIfe, Music and Movement, Hiking and Biking, Tennis, Archery, Science and Mixture of Art Techniques.
Camps meet for five weekdays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and are $150 per camper. Kayak camps are $200 per camper and the Music and Movement camp and Hiking and Biking camp are $125 because they do not meet on July 4. Continuing Education offers camps on the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses weekly from May 31 – July 19. Subjects include Flute, Woodwind, LEGO Vehicle Engineering, Academic Skills, Emergency Management Careers, Leadership, Babysitters Boot Camp and Get Green for Blue: Investigations to Connect Water to You.
Music camps are for 8th grade and up. LEGO camps are available for 1st-8th grade. The academic, emergency management, leadership and babysitter camps are for high school students and Get Green for Blue is open to 20 students entering grades 8-10.
Camps meet for two to five days. Fees range from free to $250 per camper and the Flute Workshop allows campers to reside on campus for an additional fee. For information about the Continuing Education camps call 918-444-4610.
Local athletes are invited to take part in football and soccer camps organized by the Department of Athletics.
Football camps include High School Team Camp, the Charlie North Specialty Camp, two Friday Night Lights one-day mini camps, two elementary camps and a one-day Speed and Strength Camp. All camps are held between the dates of June 3 and July 19. Ages and fees vary and the High School Team Camp allows residency for an additional fee. For information call Mike Barela at 918-444-3904.
NSU Soccer puts on coed half-day and full-day camps from June 3-6 and July 8-11 for players ages 5-8. Men's coach Rob Czlonka hosts the residential Summer ID Camp from June 23-26 for high school sophomores, juniors, seniors and college transfers. Women's coach Chase Wooten hosts the Elite Girls Camp from July 21-25 for high school players and the Team Camp for high school and club level teams from July 22-25.
