Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow is preparing to spring clean as the annual Big Event draws near on March 26.
Volunteers for the NSUBA Big Event will meet at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Administrative Services Building. The Big Event at NSUBA runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Sustaining campus beauty, NSUBA students, faculty and staff will work together for an afternoon of beautification on the campus grounds.
Anna Robison, graduate student and co-coordinator, said volunteer duties will include inside and outside cleaning, campus beautification and debris removal.
“We chose the campus because there is a great benefit to getting involved on the campus level and for the students, faculty, and staff to have a sense of pride and respect for our growing campus,” said Robison.
Within the halls of NSUBA, windows will be washed and hallways and closets swept and cleaned. Outdoor volunteers will install flowerbeds, wash outside windows and remove litter.
“It is important to instill a lasting relationship for our campus through service-oriented learning,” said Robison.
Spring weather in Oklahoma brings the potential for a stormy scenario. Robison said an alternate rain date has not yet been posted.
“That is something we will look into later as the date approaches,” she said.
Registration recently ended for the event. However Robison said volunteers are still needed and participation is encouraged from everyone at NSUBA.
“We appreciate anyone who wants to come out and help,” said Robison.
