TAHLEQUAH - To honor the continuing relationship between Northeastern State University and Hastings Indian Medical Center, Dr. George Foster, dean of the College of Optometry, presented an NSU flag to the administrators of the hospital.
"This flag symbolically solidifies the partnership between NSU and Hastings," Foster said.
Foster, along with NSU President Larry Williams and Amber Bryant, Optometry Clinic office manager, presented the flag to Hastings CEO Edwin McLemore and Clinical Director David Gahn at a ceremony held on May 24 in the medical center's administrative offices. The flag will stand with the U.S, Oklahoma, Cherokee Nation, and United Keetoowah Band flags.
Foster also presented McLemore, Gahn, and Administrative Officer Keith Barrick with Cherokee language eye charts.
